Aaron Taylor-Johnson has confirmed he’s in talks for the role of Quicksilver in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and has even sat down with Joss Whedon to discuss the role.
In an interview with Collider, the Kick-Ass star confirmed that he’d been approached for the role and found it to be an “interesting” proposition.
“I feel really flattered and honoured that they came to me for that role,” he said. “I think he’s an interesting character and we’re just gonna keep going into that. I sat down with Joss, I think he’s awesome, I sat down with the guys at Marvel and they’re also great; I think it’d be interesting.”

Taylor-Johnson’s been attached to the role of Quicksilver for some time, but this is the first time we’ve had confirmation that he’s met with Joss Whedon and Marvel over the part. Alongside rumours of scheduling conflicts, he also admitted that the prospect of signing a Marvel contract was rather daunting, as it usually involves a multi-film clause.
Joss Whedon has said before now that his version of Quicksilver will be incredibly different from the version of the character Bryan Singer is planning to include in X-Men: Days of Future Past. While Singer has already cast American Horror Story star Evan Peters, Whedon is hoping to focus on the relationship between the character and his sister, Scarlet Witch.
Would you like to see Aaron Taylor-Johnson take on the role of Quicksilver under Whedon’s guidance, and do you think two incarnations of the character could be confusing? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
